Announcements / Re: Current projects / Production updates
« Last post by CmdrJoe on July 18, 2025, 08:14:18 am »After that, I want to take some time off from audio production, save perhaps for the next Engineering Chronicles episode (script for that is already written), in order to allow for forum members time and opportunity to submit their work for audio production.
I have heard some negative feedback as to why we only allow for 3,000 words or less (for fanfics being submitted for audio work), why we only allow "family-friendly" content on our forum and podcast, and why we don't release more material more often.
The short answer to that is that I am essentially a one-man operation here, save for my fellow narrators (like Narrator Megan), and these things all take TIME, something which I do not have a lot of. I have also, as posted elsewhere on here, taken great pride since DER in 2010 in all my audio work being free of derogatory material, and being "family-safe," my definition of which is "PG-13" or cleaner. I don't like using foul language or gory descriptions in my work, so I do not allow it here.
That said, anyone can post TREK or WARS fanfiction on here, even if they don't want it turned into an audio production; there is a section on this forum for that. The only rule then that must stick is to keep it family-friendly (no profanity or gore). Use the attachment feature if you have a really long fanfic! There is no word limit if you want to simply post your fanfic without submitting it for audio production.
I'm also looking to develop our "charity project" more, and may make that a members-only section of this forum. I'd like more active members to join before then.
So, that is our current state-of-things. Look for a new STAR WARS audiofic to drop in the coming weeks!
